Graded PR-FR 1 by PSA. Upon receiving formal recognition as a legitimate variation by The Standard Catalog of Baseball Cards, the offered 1952 Topps #307 Frank Campos “black star on back” immediately catapulted atop the wantlists of many seasoned collectors. Unquestionably the scarcest variant from one of the most acclaimed baseball card issues in history, only (37) Campos “black star on back” samples have been confirmed by the third-party service in any condition. This particular specimen is low-grade due to a combination of wear including heavy creasing and significant corner wear. The all-important reverse displays mild water damage that barely impacts the card's appeal. For the master set completist or variation specialist, this exceedingly difficult card is absolutely “one to get.”
